摘 要:本研究运用RANGE软件对《走遍美国》的英文录音原文进行统计,以确定:1)达到95%和98%的词汇覆盖率所需要的词汇量;2)在4000-14000词等级出现2次以上低频词族的覆盖率;3)预先学习低频词后,在3000词等级词汇覆盖率有什么变化。调查结果显示,该节目累计词汇量为37,916。包括专有名词和边际词,学习者需要认识最常用的2000词族即可达到96.53%的覆盖率;认识最常用的4000词族可达到98.37%的覆盖率。在4000-14000等级出现2次以上低频词族的覆盖率是1.03%。预先学习低频词后,在3000词等级词汇覆盖率由97.91%提高至98.94%。该结果表明如果学习者拥有最常用的3000词族并预先学习低频词,能极大提升利用该节目的效率。The script of FamilyAlbam USA was analyzed to determine: 1) vocabulary size necessary to understand 95% and 98% of the words in the TV program; 2) lexical coverage of low-frequency families occurring more than 2 times at the 4,000 to 14,000 word level; 3) lexical coverage at the 3,000 word level, with low-frequency families pre-learned. The results showed that FamHyAlbum USA consisted of 37, 916 running words, and knowledge of the most frequent 2000 word fami- lies, including proper nouns and marginal words, provided 96.53% coverage, and knowledge of the most frequent 4000 word families provided 98.37% coverage. The results also showed that the lexical coverage of the low-frequency families is 1.03% and after learners pre-learned low-frequency word families, the lexical coverage at the 3,000 word level increased from 97.91% to 98.94%. The findings suggested that if learners know the most frequent 3000 word families and pre-learned low-frequency families, the efficiency of using the program may greatly be increased.
