《大卫·科波菲尔》首段汉译分析  

Analysis of Chinese Translations of First Paragraph in David Copperfield

摘　　要：根据林纾、董秋斯等人的《大卫·科波菲尔》首段汉译,本文试图从选词、用法和语感等方面,分析译文的现象和本质,探讨译者对作品的理解。张谷若和许渊冲在末句中"呱呱"的拟声译法,因其书面语特征,不完全符合小说第一人称的语气。Based on the different Chinese translations of the first paragraph in David Copperfield by Lin Shu, Dong Qiusi and other translators, this article tries to explore the phenomena and the essence of these translations in regard to their choice of words, usage and language sense, and analyzes translators＇ understanding of this work. Onomatopoeic Chinese ＂gugu＂ in the last sentence translated by Zhang Guruo and Xu Yuanchong does not completely accord with the tongue of the first-person narrator because of the incongruity of the written style.
