摘 要:本文是对华中师范大学外国语学院英语系陈宏薇教授的访谈录。陈宏薇教授长期从事翻译理论与实践、汉英语言与文化对比研究。访谈中她回顾了自己多年翻译教学的经验,并提出她对汉英翻译教材编写模式的独到见解。在教材编写中陈教授强调翻译理论以及汉英语言文化对比理论的重要性,因为翻译有自己的特点,翻译的过程在很大程度上是对两种语言及两种文化进行对比的过程;由于中西思维方式有异,翻译教学中要训练学生转换思维方式,讲授汉英翻译时应重温汉语的特点。她还特别强调译例分析在汉译英教学中的重要作用。陈宏薇教授认为只有将学习翻译与学习社会紧密结合起来,才能有效提高翻译能力,更好地推动翻译教育。This is an interview with Professor Chen Hongwei, who has for years conducted researches in Translatology, Translation Theory & Practice and contrastive studies between languages and cultures. In the interview, Prof Chen reviewed her 42 years' teaching experience in translation and offered her original views on the compiling mode of coursebooks on Chinese-English Translation. She holds the view that it is very important for coursebooks on translation to include translation theories and contrastive studies between Chinese and English as well as Chinese culture and English culture, because translation has its own features and the process of translation is, to a great extent, the process of doing contrastive studies between the two languages and cultures. She thinks that the students should be trained to shuttle between Chinese thinking mode and western thinking mode due to the differences between them. She also believes the necessity of reviewing the features of Chinese in Chinese-English translation teaching. Moreover, Prof Chen emphasizes the important role of case analysis in Chinese-English translation teaching. Finally she shares with us her opinion that only by combining the study of translation with that of society can one' s ability of translation be effectively improved and translation education be better promoted.
