摘 要:本文基于中国大学生英语笔语语料库WECCL 2.0和英语本族语者作文语料库LOCNESS,用对比中介语分析的方法研究中国EFL学习者"ing-小句"的"非限定用法"使用特征。首先,对两个语料库的检索发现学习者"过少使用"这一用法;其次,为了弄清差异所在,检索出两个库中高频的五个V-ing形式:"living,speaking,being,having,making",对其"非限定用法"按语法功能分类手工标注,统计分析发现:学习者过多使用它们作主语和立场状语,过少使用它们作宾语和补语,在定语和其他状语等语法功能上无显著差异;最后,文章结合语境和母语迁移分析差异原因,并探讨了研究对于英语写作和语法教学的启示。Based on the corpora WECCL 2.0 and LOCNESS, the study conducts a contrastive interlanguage analysis (CIA) to investigate the "non-finite forms" of "ing-clauses" in Chinese EFL learners' writing. First, a pilot study reveals learners' undernse of both the finite and the non-finite forms. Second, in order to differentiate the underuse of the non-finite forrns, all the concordance lines of the five most frequent forms, namely, living, speaking, being, having and making, are coUected to form a mini-corpus and manually annotated according to such grammatical functions as being nominal, adjective and adverbial. Chi-square tests of the subcategorized functions show that the learners overuse them as subjects and stance adverbials and undernse them as objects and complements. Finally, the study explores the contexts and interlingual differences where significant differences exist and further discusses research applications in EFL teaching and dictionary or grammar handbook compiling.
