摘 要:在中国近代洋务运动的过程中,容闳和沈葆桢两人的留学教育思想推动了当时的官派留美、留欧教育活动。由于出身、经历以及接受教育的不同,两人留学教育思想亦有诸多差异。比较两人留学教育思想的异同,分析造成异同的原因,有助于我们从一定侧面了解当时的洋务运动,也能够比较深刻地理解当时中西文化的交融与冲突,有助于我们从留学教育的层面上理解当时的"西学东渐"、"中体西用"等社会思潮。两人留学教育思想的不同,也在一定程度上影响着中国近代早期官派留美、留欧活动的进展、成效及命运。In the process of westernization movement, the overseas education thoughts of Ronghong and Shen Baozhen had advocated and promoted the education activities of dispatching students by government to Europe or the United States to study in early modern China. As the differences between their backgrounds of family, experience and education, Ronghong and Shen Baozhen had many different overseas education thoughts. Comparing similarities and differences of their overseas education thoughts and analyzing the rea- sons for the phenomenon can help us, from a certain side, to learn the westernization movement at that time, which makes us more profoundly understand the integration and conflict between Chinese and West- ern culture at that time, and helps us understand social ethos such as "Western Learning", "Chinese- style Westernization" from the angle of overseas education in early modern China. The differences of oVer- seas education thoughts between Ronghong and Shen Baozhen had made a certain influences on the process, effect and destiny of the government-dispatched students to Europe or the United States in early modern China;
