摘 要:山文化意象是中国古诗词曲中最重要、内涵最丰富的文化意象之一,象征着国家、爱情之永恒,疆域、离人之阻隔;同时还是寄托诗人隐逸情怀的一种载体。由于山文化意象的某些传统文化内涵在英语中是缺省的,这为其准确翻译带来了较大难度。在巴斯奈特文化翻译观的启示下,译者以文化作为翻译的目标和单位,采取多样的翻译方法和技巧,最大程度地传承山文化意象内涵,向译语读者展现其别样的审美情趣和文化感观。The cultural image--mountain, with the richest connotations, is highlighted as the most typical in the Classical Chinese poetry. It has become a symbol of eternity of countries or love, a symbol of separation between boundaries or lovers, as well as a carrier of hermits' feelings. It's quite difficult to accurately translate mountain-image due to the lack of some of its connotations in English. Enlightened by Bassett's Cultural Translation Theory, translators take culture as the target and unit of the translation. By means of some definite translation techniques, translators can successfully convey the rich connotations of Chinese mountain-image to the largest extent, thus displaying its unique aesthetic charm to target readers.
