摘　　要：本文是国际知名机器翻译和翻译技术研究专家伯纳德·马克·沙特尔沃思博士的访谈录。他介绍了欧洲机器翻译与翻译技术的研究以及应用现状,指出了应用中出现的问题,对该领域的未来发展作了展望。他认为,机器翻译与翻译技术的结合研究仍然是未来的发展趋势,翻译技术的网络服务模式更新将会进一步提高翻译的效率和质量,机器翻译将会走入许多电子产品,比如手机,为解决跨语言、跨文化交流带来便利。This paper is a summary of an interview with Dr. Mark Shuttleworth, a world famous expert in the field of machine translation and translation technology. In the interview, Dr. Shuttleworth reviews the research and application of Machine Translation and Translation Technology in Europe, identifies problems that have oc- curred and projects into the future development of this area. He believes that integrated research on Machine Translation and Translation Technology will remain the trend and the upgraded online service mode of translation technology will further improve translation quality. He also believes that Machine Translation will become availa- ble on electronic devices such as mobile phones, which will make cross-lingual and cultural communication even more convenient.
