摘　　要：文化缺省是指作者在与其意向读者交流时双方共有的相关背景文化知识的省略。进一步探讨文化缺省在翻译中补偿的必要性以及方法,以消除目的语读者在理解上存在的语义真空,达到对源语文化的了解和对语篇的连贯理解。Cultural default refers to default of relevant cultural background knowledge shared by the author or speaker and his or her intended readers and hearers in communication. The text probes into the necessity and ways of cultural default compensation, which eliminates semantic space to target language readers and understand source cultural and coherent comprehend to the discourse.
