摘　　要：美国大学教师专业能力结构是一个多向度、多层次的有机整体。从向度看,美国大学教师专业能力包括教学能力、研究能力和服务能力;从层次看,每一向度又包括基本要求和扩展重点。基本要求是美国大学教师作为一名从业者所具备的标准能力,扩展重点是美国大学教师作为时代引领者必须具备的能力,两者的结合是美国大学教师从岗位胜任走向绩效卓越的必然路径,是美国大学教师专业成熟的标志。The current construction of the American faculty professional competence is an organic integrity with multi-dimensions and multi-levels.For dimensions,faculty professional competences include teaching,research and service.For levels,this dimension can be divided into basic requirements and broadened focus.The former is the common quality as a faculty,while the latter is the social requirement to the faculty as academic leader.The combination of them is the mark of professional growth to American faculty.
