摘　　要：美国修辞学家伯克的教育哲学观源自对人的认识,聚焦对人的培养,以培养"公民批评家"为目标。本文基于伯克的教育哲学观,提出通过培养"公民修辞家"来发展外语专业学生的修辞能力,并由此提升其思辨能力和创新能力。Burke＇s philosophy of education originates from his study of human beings, and focuses on the education of the whole person with the particular goal of cultivating ＂citizen critics＂. This paper, based on Burke＇s philosophy of education, suggests developing foreign language students＇ rhetorical competence by educating them into ＂citizen rheto- ricians＂. In this way, students＇ critical thinking ability and creative competence will be improved substantially.
