Objective To investigate the characteristics of self consistency and congruence and coping styles in remitted depression patients. Methods Totally 50 remitted depression patients meeting the Tenth Revision (ICD-10)diagnostic criteria for depression were included as the case group ,and 40 age-and gender-matched normal people as the controls .The case group and control group were as-sessed with the Self Consistency and Congruence Scale (SCCS),and Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ).Results A statistically significant in the scores of SCCS subscales was observed between patients with remitted depression and normal controls ( t =-2.051,-3.262;P〈0.05)and the same result in the scores of SCSQ subscales (t=-2.485,3.372;P〈0.05).The SCCS score of case group was significantly correlated with scores of positive coping style (P〈0.05),while significantly correlated with scores of negative coping style (P〈0.05).Conclusion It suggests that remitted patients with depression show lower self consistency and congruence and negative coping style ,and they need psychological intervention to promote rehabilitation and reduce the recurrence of depression .
