摘　　要：从分析高职教育与高职生源英语基础特点分析出发，阐明了高职英语教学中激发和培养学习兴趣的重要性和必要性,并指出了激发和培养高职英语学习兴趣的实践策略。Interest is the best teacher. Clearly, the cuhivation learning interest in English teaching is essential. The latest ＂The basic requirements of higher vocational education English curriculum＂ clearly put forward： to realize the course objectives, cultivating the students＂ interest in English learning is the key. If teachers effectively inspire the students＂ leaming interest and enthusiasm, they will actively cooperate with the teacher in class, and they may actively study and explore, so the learning efficiency can be improved naturally. The English teachers have obligations and responsibilities to inspire and cultivate students＂ interest in learning English and enthusiasm on order to improve the quality of English teaching.
