摘　　要：本文以西方传统语言学中的行为主义 (behaviourism )为理论基础 ,以英语初学者的行为特征为探讨对象 ,在强调“开始”阶段重要性的同时 ,分析并提出了教师应具备怎样的心理准备与教学技法 ,才能为今日的英语初学者架起一座通向高级英语人材的七彩桥。This paper explores the application of behaviorism(foundation of the western traditional cognitive linguistics)in ELT for the beginning stage. The author analyzes the features of the English beginners, presents the importance of the beginning stage and emphasizes the psychological preparation and teaching methodology of the English teacher.
