摘　　要：社会交往本质上是参与各方面子构建的活动。有译员参与的社会交往活动一般会有至少来自于两个不同文化,使用不同语言的参加者。社会交往的成败取决于双方的双向面子构建活动是否成功。译员在社会交往翻译中应该服务于交往双方的面子构建,成为交往双方面子的积极构建者。The essence of social intereourses is the participation in activitie~ of face building. In social intercourses where interpreters are found, there are generally participants from at least two different cultures and languages. The success of such intercourses depends on the success of activities involving face building of the two sides. Interpreters, in their social intercourse interpretations, should serve the construction of face building and be positive builders for both sides.
