功能语言学下的英语乏词义结构探究

摘　　要：英语乏词义结构由一个不表达含义的动词加上一个名词词组所构成,而这个结构的主要意义由这个名词词组来传达。本文拟从系统功能语言学的角度来对这种极具特色的动词短语结构进行研究和分析,以期揭示英语乏词义结构在功能语言学中的特点以及为它的研究提供一个新的视角。研究表明,英语乏词义结构具有构建语法隐喻、促进语篇衔接和连贯及其实现语言结构有界化的功能和作用。English delexical structure refers to the structure which consists of a meaningless verb followed by a noun phrase and whose meaning is conveyed by the noun phrase. This paper based on functional linguistics re- searches on this special verb phrase structure, in the hope of revealing its features in functional linguistics and pro- viding a new perspective to study it. The analysis shows that English delexical structure can be used to construct grammatical metaphor, enhance the degree Of textual cohesion and realize the bounding of language structure.
