摘　　要：英汉习语的对比与双向翻译研究不是一个新课题,但是利用隐喻认知研究英汉习语之异同及翻译还不曾有专题讨论。利用隐喻认知有利于对习语求本溯源从而深入分析掌握英汉习语的语源及语义,有利于把握英汉语习语之"形""义"的辩证统一关系,有利于把握翻译的生成路径,更好地指导翻译研究。Comparison and translation between English and Chinese idioms are not a new topic but there is no exploration into such study from the perspective of metaphorical cognition. It is proposed that metaphorical analysis is conducive to getting the sources of idioms, grasping the dialectical relationship between the form and meaning of idioms and paving way to the E-C and C-E translation.
