摘　　要：职业教育的目标是培养适应社会需要的高技能专门人才和高素质劳动者。因此,判断教育质量的标准就是看学生是否拥有相应的职业能力。对于旅游专业的学生来说,职业能力中重要的一项就是英语交际能力。但是在公共英语课程教学中,对学生职业能力的培养还处于较低水平。为了培养适应社会需要的复合型人才,提高学生的职业能力,对公共英语的教学改革势在必行。The main task of China＇s vocational education is to cultivate skilled professionals and qualified laborers who are suitable for the social needs, so the standard of educational quality is whether the graduates have the professional abilities. English communication ability is one of the most important professional abilities for Tourism major students. However, for the Public English Course, the training of professional abilities is still in low level. Thus, in order to cultivate skilled professionals and improve their professional abilities, we should take a teaching reform on public English course imperatively.
