摘　　要：《瑞普·凡·温克尔》是美国作家华盛顿·欧文的一篇具有代表性的短篇小说,国内有不同的翻译版本,其中万紫、雨宁的版本堪称上品。万紫和雨宁在翻译过程中采取异化和归化相结合的策略。采用异化策略时,很好地保留了原文的语言、文化和社会特点,忠实地传达了作者的意图。在采取归化策略处理一些语言现象时,使用了对象语读者容易理解的语言,但容易造成读者的误解,传递了错误的文化信息。此外,译文中也出现了一些不尽如人意之处,这些问题可以在异化策略的指引下得以解决。Rip Van Winkle is a representative short story of Washington Irving, which has different versions of Chinese translation.Wan Zi and Yu Ning＇s version is quite influential.This paper analyzes their translation through the perspective of the strategy of foreignization and domestication.When adopting the foreignizing strategy,it is good to keep the language ,culture and social characteristics of the original text, and convey the author＇s intention faithfully .In the process of adopting the domestication strategy to deal with some linguistic phenomena,the target language readers can easily understand the language ,hut it is easy to cause the misunderstanding of the reader , and pass the wrong cultural information .In addition, there are some problems in the translation,which can be solved by the guidance of foreignizing strategy.
