摘 要:原型理论认为诗歌中的原型意象是塑造诗境的重要元素。文学作品中的原型意象如原始意象、神话传说是人类的精神家园,在文学作品中具有很强的传承性,能够在文学作品中产生巨大的张力。在诗歌翻译中,这些意象处理的得失直接关系着诗歌翻译的质量。以《楚辞》原型意象的英译为例,通过抽样统计对比分析许渊冲和卓振英两位译者的翻译策略和方法。通过研究发现,两位译者对原型意象的处理存在较大的差异性。许译以归化为主,卓译以异化为主,取得的翻译效果也有所不同。The archetype theory proposes that the archetypal images in the poems are important elements in creating the poetical conception. The archetypal images in the literary works such as the primitive images, tales and legends, being the spiritual home of human beings, which are strongly influential and inheritable in literature and can produce huge tension in the literature works. In poetry translation, the failure or success of handling these images is directly related to the quality of the whole translation. Taking the archetypal images in Chuci as a study case, this paper adopts sampling statistics to compare and analyze Mr. Xu Yuanchong' s and Mr. Zhuo Zhenying' s translation strategy and methods applied in their versions of Chuci. The research proves that their methods of translating the archetypal images are quite different. Mr. Xu takes domestication as the dominating translation strategy while Mr. Zhuo adopts foreignization as his main translation strategy. Hence, they attain different translation results.
