摘 要:从英语课程改革的成功经验和课程教学涉及的五个方面包括开课时段、选课原则、学分设定、学业成绩测试和教学条件,分析了西北欠发达地区二本院校实施"选修型"大学英语教学的可行性,指出此项教学改革顺利实施的关键在于教育部的政策支持。This thesis, through reviewing the relevant successful experiences of College English reform of some universities at home and abroad and analyzing the five aspects of the teaching practice including the subsection of the course, the principle of course selection, the credits distribution, the achievement test and the teaching conditions, discusses the feasibility of teaching College English as an elective course in second-level institutes in underdeveloped areas in Northwestern China. It also points out that the key to the smooth implementation of this reform is the policy support from the Ministry of Education.
