摘 要:学术英语(EAP)拥有不同于通用英语(EGP)的语言特征,文体总特征的不同渗透在词汇层面、句法层面、语篇层面及修辞层面上。学术英语在教学中分为通用学术英语(EGAP)和专门学术英语(ESAP),词汇也分为通用学术英语词汇和专门学术英语词汇。《上海市大学英语教学参考框架》(试行)已研发出EGAP教学参考词汇表,而ESAP应在各个学科语料库的基础上待建且完善。根据学术英语在两个层面上的特点,对两本已出版的教材进行了分析,提出了可改进之处。English for Academic Purposes (EAP) has the unique linguistic features different from English for General Purposes(EGP). The differences of the general characteristics in style are presented in terms of lexical lev- el, syntactic level, discourse level and rhetorical level. English for Academic Purposes(EAP) concerning teaching is divided into English for General Academic Purposes(EGAP) and English for Specific Academic Purposes(ESAP) ; accordingly, vocabulary is divided into the two categories: vocabulary for EGAP and vocabulary for ESAP. A vocab- ulary profile for EGAP is offered in A Framework of Reference for EFL Teaching at Tertiary Level in Shanghai ( Tri- al implementation). The vocabulary profile for ESAP needs to be constructed and perfected based on the corpus of the specialized field. As to the syntactic level, the characteristics of EAP can be interpreted by means of grammatical metaphor theory. The analysis of the two published EAP textbooks is made to explore the merits and demerits with reference to the discussed features of EAP.
