摘　　要：傅兰雅的数学翻译工作在中国近代数学史中占有非常重要的地位,他翻译的数学著作已经出版的达9种,但存在着译本忠实于原作的不多、选择底本方面很随意、术语未做到统一等方面的问题。傅兰雅和他的中国合作者早年的经历、中西数学之间的巨大差异、西方人口译中国人笔述的翻译模式等影响了翻译工作的质量。The translation of mathematical books by John Fryer had played an important part in the early history of modem Chinese mathematics. Nine mathematical books translated by him were published. There exist the following problems. Many translations are not faithful to their original edition; the choice of original edition is casual; and the terminology is not unified. The early experience of Fryer and his Chinese partners, the gap between Chinese and Western mathematics and the mode of oral translation by westerns and recorded by Chinese had affected the quality of translation.
