大陆地区慧能与《坛经》研究述评

摘　　要：本文对20世纪以来大陆地区的慧能与《坛经》研究进行了梳理,对各个时期研究的基本状况和特点作了概括及评论,认为这百余年来大陆地区的慧能与《坛经》研究大致可分为五个时期:第一期为民国时期,研究者或从新资料,或用新方法,或应新时代,提出了不少有关慧能与《坛经》的新说,从而具有"重建"的特点。第二期为新中国成立至"文化大革命"之前,这一时期有关慧能与《坛经》的研究特点是用马克思主义为指导和方法,将慧能与《坛经》中的思想归结为主观唯心主义,并努力揭示其世俗的阶级基础和社会根源。第三期为"文化大革命"至改革开放前,期间没有相关论著发表,相关研究是"停滞"的。第四期是改革开放至1990年代初,研究者在开展马克思主义研究方法合理化运用的同时,广泛占有第一手资料,积极开展国际交流,深入研究慧能禅学思想的逻辑结构及其源流,考辨《坛经》的版本谱系及其与慧能禅宗的相互关系,所形成的一些研究方法和结论成为后来研究的基础,可谓是"继往开来"的时期。第五期从1990年代初至今,这一时期慧能与《坛经》的研究呈现爆发式增长,不仅在慧能与《坛经》古今论著的搜集整理及深入研究方面有所推进,而且将慧能与《坛经》所蕴含的禅宗优秀传统文化与当代社会人生的现实需要结合起来进行研究,呈现出佛教界和学术界的研究"齐头并进"的良好局面。The studies can be divided into five periods about Hui-neng and the platform sutra of the sixth patriarch in China's Mainland since the 20 th century. The first is the period of Republic of China. The feature of this period is rebuilding that includes different ideas proposed by new methods,from new data,or according to the new era. The second period is from the founding of People＇s Republic of China and before the Cultural Revolution. In the period,the studies are led by Marxism. With this approach,the ideology of Hui-neng and the Sutra belongs to subjective idealism,and the Secular bases of the ideology are revealed. The third period is from the Cultural Revolution and before the reform and opening policy. In the period,no writings are published at all,and the studies are more or less at a standstill. The forth period is from the reform and opening to the early 1990 s. In the period,Researchers continue using Marxism as a method legitimately,try to occupy more original data,undertake international communication positively,explore the logic and history of Hui-neng＇s Chan deeply,discover the genealogy of the different editions of the Platform Sutra,and reveal the interation between the Platform Sutra and Chan. As a result,the studies inherit the past and usher in the future. The fifth period is from the early 1990 s up to now. During the period,the writings of the studies,not only involving consist of collating the data and uncovering theory of Hui-neng and the Platform Sutra,but also concerning to excavate the value of fine aspects of Chan to adapt changes in social life,are booming in both academia and Buddhism. The Researchers of academia and Buddhism are neck and neck in the period.
