摘　　要：隐喻是人们对语言认知和理解的重要思维方式。基于隐喻理论并以名词化隐喻功能为视角,本文系统分析了警务英语的语篇特征,探讨名词化隐喻在语篇中的简洁、客观、精确和衔接功能。名词化隐喻功能的系统研究有助于对警务英语的语篇理解,同时也给警务英语翻译研究带来新的启示。依据警务英语语篇的文体特征,本文进一步以功能对等为理论依据,提出行之有效的翻译策略。This paper analyzes policing English discourse systematically from the perspectives of nominalization of metaphoric functions and explores the multi-functions of nominal metaphors in policing English discourse in terms of simplicity, objectivity, exactness and link-up. A study of nominalization of metaphoric functions contributes to a deeper understanding of different policing English discourses and sheds light on a study of policing English translation in particular. In view of the style characteristics of policing English discourse, this paper puts forward some effective translation strategies based on the theory of reciprocal functions.
