摘　　要：美国大学章程规定的教师权利主要有学术自由权、言论自由权、参与权、投票权、建议权、聘任权和休假权等,责任主要有研究责任、教学责任、社会服务责任、对学生的责任、对同事的责任和对大学的责任等。权利主要通过协商、调解、仲裁和诉讼来维护,责任主要通过学术委员会负责调查和行政机构协助执行来追究。American university faculty＇s rights in university statutes mainly contain aca- demic freedom rights, expression freedom rights, rights of governing university, voting rights, rights to make recommendations, academic tenure, rights to leave, etc. Responsibili- ties mainly include research responsibility, teaching responsibility, social service responsibil- ity, responsibility to students, responsibility to colleagues, responsibility to the university, etc. Rights are safeguarded by means of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. Responsibilities are investigated and affixed by means of the investigation of academic com- mittee and the execution of administrative agencies.
