摘  要:本研究以当前负动机研究中较少受到关注的初中生为对象,对114名农村中学生的英语学习负动机现象进行了问卷调查。通过对数据进行描述性统计和因子分析,发现农村地区初中生普遍存在英语学习负动机现象。造成负动机的因素包括三类外部因素(教师因素、成绩负面影响、学习环境)和三类内部因素(英语学能、自信不足、兴趣缺失)。与以往研究不同,本研究发现内部因素是初中生英语学习负动机的重要诱因。本研究结果对消除农村中学英语课堂负动机现象,提升农村中学英语教学效率有积极的现实意义。This study investigated 114 rural middle school EFL learners' demotivators in English learning. The descriptive statistics and factor analysis of the data collected from a questionnaire survey revealed that demotivation was prevalent among middle school students from rural areas, and was caused by both external and internal factors. The external demotivators include teacher-related factors such as personality, teaching competence and teaching methods, negative effects of scores, and learning environment. The internal demotivators encompass students' English learning ability, lack of confidence and lack of intrinsic interest. Different from previous studies, the present study found that internal factors were the primary reasons for middle school students' demotivation to in English learning. The results suggest that teachers need to reduce the detrimental effects of demotivation and improve English teaching efficiency in the English class of middle schools.
