摘 要:威廉·哈里斯是美国19世纪下半叶最有影响的公共学校教育家和黑格尔主义哲学家。沿着哈里斯的人生轨迹和教育职业活动,运用历史分析的方法,分析其以黑格尔主义为核心的教育思想的形成和发展过程。哈里斯的教育思想和教育实践积极回应了美国工业革命和城市化、南北战争、科学与宗教冲突等的时代挑战,为解决现实问题提出了有效的精神工具和实践路径。他的教育思想的形成和教育活动是19世纪下半叶美国思想界和教育界面对社会剧烈变革的求索之路的缩影。William Harris is the most famous public school educator and Hegel philosopher during the second half of the 19 th Century in the United States.In this paper,we followed the life path and vocational education activities of Harris,using historical analysis to analyze the process of the formation and development of Harris' Hegelian educational thoughts.His educational theory and practice positively responded to the challenges of the industrial revolution,the urbanization,Civil War,and the conflict between science and religion in the United States during that time,which had put forward effective mental tools and approaches to practices to solve practical problems.The formation of Harris' educational theory and activities were the reflection of the exploration on dramatic social change by theorists and educators in the second half of the 19 th century in the United States.
