摘  要:参照Herbert框架,通过话语补全任务工具,考察中国英语学习者高低语言水平组的称赞回应语的应用情况,探讨语用迁移及其与二语水平的关系。研究发现:非英专组被试使用称赞回应语的模式与汉语本族语者相近,英专组则倾向英语本族语者的模式。这表明,在称赞回应语上,学习者二语水平和语用迁移基本上呈现负相关关系,即随着二语水平的提高,学习者语用迁移减少。This paper intends to explore the relationship between pragmatic transfer and second language proficiency by examining two groups of Chinese English learners’ performance on compliment responses through Discourse Completion Test. Based on Herbert’s classification, the study finds that Non-English majors prefer the Chinese way while English majors are inclined to follow native English speakers’ pattern. It further shows that learners’ second language proficiency is negatively correlated with pragmatic transfer in compliment responses. That is, the higher learners’ second language proficiency is, the less pragmatic transfer occurs.
