从功能翻译理论视角看城市公示语的翻译策略——以太原市公示语为例

摘　　要：公示语翻译关系到一个城市的对外形象,也在某种程度上体现着市民的文明素质与修养,但一些不准确、不标准的公示语英译仍然存在,这或多或少地影响着一个城市的整体形象;以功能翻译理论为指导,指出太原市目前还存在的一些公示语英译问题,探析公示语英译的相关翻译策略,以提升太原市公示语翻译的质量和省会城市的综合指数。Public signs translation is related to the external image of a city,and to some extent,it reflects the quality of the citizen＇s civilization.However,some inaccurate and improper English public signs still exist,which affects the whole image of a city more or less.Under the guide of functionalist theory,we present some problems of public signs in Taiyuan City and discuss the effective strategies of public signs translation.We hope this paper can help with improving the quality of public signs translation and strengthening the capital city＇s comprehensive index.
