摘  要:大学本科毕业率具有深刻的质量内涵,是衡量高等教育质量的重要指标之一,然而我国高等教育界对此一直缺少应有的关注。分析中美两国本科生近十年的毕业率数据可以发现,美国大学本科毕业率约为50%,不同类型、不同竞争力的大学,乃至相同类型、相同竞争力的大学毕业率都存在明显差异;我国大学本科毕业率则高达90%以上,不同类型、不同竞争力的大学毕业率无明显差异。这表明两国的高等教育质量观及相关政策安排有明显差异。为实现建设高等教育强国的目标,必须对我国大学本科毕业率的持续攀升有一个清醒的认识。There're profound quality connotation in the graduation rate, which was one of the important indexes to measure the quality of higher education. However, there's lack of due attention on it in China higher education. Analyzing the graduation rates of Chinese and American undergraduates in the past ten years, it found the graduation rate of American undergraduates was about 50%, and there existed obvious difference among different types and different competitive universities, which also existed among the same type amt the same competitiveness universities; the graduation rate of Chinese undergraduate was as high as 90%, and there existed no obvious difference among different types and different competitive universities. It showed there were distinctive differences between China and America on the concept of higher education quality and policy arrangements. Under the background of advo cating connotation construction of higher education, China should establish a clear understanding facing the continuing rise of undergraduate graduation rate in order to achieve the goal of building a powerful country of higher education.
