摘　　要：作为一种跨文化交际技能—英语演讲在当今时代的重要性是不言而喻的。而独立学院的大学英语课堂也处在高校英语教学改革的大潮之中,如何有效的把英语演讲作为一门选修课引进独立学院的大学英语课堂,来充分的调动学生学习英语的热情,感受语言的魅力,进而促进大学英语教学改革是我们高校英语教师研究的方向。It is self-evident that English speech is an important skill in intercultural communication. As the course of college English in independent colleges is a integral part of English teaching reform in higher education, it will be a feasible practice for English teachers of these colleges to introduce English speeches to their teaching for such a course may help activate students enthusiasm for English learning, make them feel the charisma of language and promote the reform of college English teaching.
