摘  要:赫胥黎与阿什比分别为19世纪和20世纪英国著名的教育思想家。比较分析他们的科学教育思想,对了解英国工业革命后以制造业和机械化实现为背景的教育思潮,有着重要的学术价值与现实意义。就科学教育的缘起而言,是逐步从点发展到面;就科学教育的内容与方法而言,是逐步由科学教育与人文教育的对立走向融合;就科学教育的目的与结果而言,是逐步从不成熟走向相对成熟。Huxley and Ashby are the famous British educational thinkers at 19th and 20th century re-spectively. It has important academic value and practical significance to understand the education thoughts on the basis of the realization of manufacturing and mechanization after the British industrial revolution through making a comparative analysis on their science education thoughts. In terms of origin of science education, it has developed from point to surface gradually. In terms of contents and methods of science education, its grad-ually transformed from the opposition of science education and humanistic education toward integration of them; In terms of purpose and results of science education, its gradually changed from immature to relatively mature.
