宋明理学研究方法与内容的创新期待  

Why Shall We Rewrite the History of Neo-Confucianism？ --Notes on the Opening Report Seminar on the Major Project of the ＂The New Multi-volume Edition of Neo-Confucianism History in Song and Ming Dynasties＂

摘　　要：吴震教授主持的国家社科重大项目＂多卷本《宋明理学史新编》＂是宋明理学研究的一件好事情,首先要向吴震教授和他的团队表示衷心祝贺!我对《宋明理学史新编》在研究方法与内容上的创新有所期待,我谈三方面,供吴震教授与课题组同仁参考。一、对＂新＂与＂编＂的表层理解我觉得＂新＂与＂编＂在表层都至少各有两层含义。关于＂新＂,首先很明确,这个＂新＂是相对于侯外庐先生主编的《宋明理学史》而言的。On January 13, the opening report seminor on the Major Project of The National Social Science Fund The New Multi-volume Edition of Neo-Confucianism History in Song and Ming Dynasties （17ZDA013） organized by Professor Wu Zhen from Fudan University was successfully held in the School of Philosophy, Fudan University. The experts and scholars had a heated discussion on the issue of ＂why should we rewrite the history of Neo-Confucianism？＂ Professor Wu Zhen, the chief expert of this subject, pointed out that The New Edition is a challenging major project. It not only needs to fully absorb the research fruits of the predecessors but also makes necessary introspection on the research history of the past three decades. At the same time, we should also focus on the present and fully absorb the new achievements of current academic circles on the research of Neo-Confucianism. The New Edition needs to attach importance to the study of philosophical issues, describe Neo-Confucianism history, and moreover, involve in the discourse of Neo-Confucianism and undertake innovative theoretical discussions. On the other hand, although the study object of The New Edition is Neo-Confueianism （lixue ,理学） , the term ＂Neo-Confucianism＂ can hardly cover the whole aspects of the intellectual and cultural history of Song and Ming Dynasties. Today, rewriting the history of Neo- Confucianism is to break the previous view that ＂Neo-Confucianism＂ is the concept of academic history and put Neo- Confucianism in the intellectual world of Song and Ming Confucianism instead of incorporating Confucianism into the frame of Neo-Confucianism. Therefore, The New Edition has a broader field of vision such as thought, history, theory and method, and carries out a comprehensive investigation of Confucianism in various fields of view, such as philosophy, philosophical history, intellectual history and even History of Confucian Classics. It also tries to reclarify the traditional academic concepts of ＂lixue＂ （理学）, ＂daoxue
