摘　　要：对畅销教材《微积分》的作者James Stewart给出了简要介绍,并将其生前最后一次接受采访的部分内容展现出来,从中可以获知Stewart的教育理念,感叹他在畅销书背后付出的精力和时间,感受到他对教学的热爱和激情.文中还列举了Stewart《微积分》中常数项级数的两个习题并给出解答,一窥他教材中习题的独特之处.在大学数学教学中,为了提高人才培养质量,可以从Stewart及其《微积分》中借鉴许多理念和经验.A brief introction is given to James Stewart, who is the author of the best selling Calculus book. From Stewart＇s final interview, we can get his education ideas. We can know how much time Stewart had spent and how much effort Stewart had expended on his best selling book. We can also feel his love and passion for mathematics. Two exercises on infinite series are presented for us to have a glimpse to the uniqueness of the Calculus＇s problem sets. In the future of college mathematics reform, we can draw on some ideas and experiences from Stewart and his Calculus in order to improve the quality of education.
