摘 要:英语习语是大学非英语专业学生学习的重点和难点,大学英语教材编写应在兼顾文化教学大纲要求的同时,收入更多的英语习语,建议教师在教学过程中采用英汉习语对比法、隐喻认知法和语言文化法进行教学。For non-English majors in colleges, English idioms, an important part in their English learning, are very difficult to be mastered, therefore, to improve the efficiency of English idiom learning, English textbook compilers and college English teachers are supposed to take joint efforts. This paper suggests that more English idioms be included in textbooks and that teachers adopt the approaches to teaching English idioms: contrastive approach to understanding differences and similarities between Chinese and English idioms, cognitive approach to understanding metaphors embodied in English idioms, and lingua-cultural approach to understanding culturallyloaded idioms.
