合同英语中语法隐喻的文体功能研究

摘　　要：本文以功能文体观和认知文体观为理论依据,应用小型语料库,探讨合同英语中语法隐喻的文体功能。研究发现语法隐喻表达式在合同英语中呈＂失衡＂分布态势。本文认为这种＂失衡＂与合同交际情景语境相关,体现了合同作者/读者在编码和解码合同语言过程中＂用抽象代替具体/用具体代替抽象＂和＂用客观代替主观＂的转喻认知策略,具有促使合同英语文体的一些词句特征和语义风格凸显的功能。This paper, on the basis of the assumptions of Functional Stylistics and Cognitive Stylistics, applying a small-sized corpus, purports to discuss the stylistic functions of grammatical metaphor in contract English. The paper finds that grammatical metaphor expressions in contract English show a ＂deflective＂ distribution pattern. It is argued that such kind of ＂defl ection＂ correlates with the context of situation of contract communication. It embodies the metonymical strategies of ＂the abstract for the concrete/the concrete for the abstract＂ and ＂the objective for the subjective＂ employed by contract writers or readers in the process of encoding or decoding the language in contract, and has the stylistic function of making some lexical-syntactic characteristics and certain stylistic semantic features salient.
