摘　　要：大学英语教师目前面临无学科依托和学术身份不明等困境。要突破这种困境,大学英语教师可以从通识教育入手,理清大学英语通识教育发展的现状,更新教学理念、拓宽知识领域和开展英语通识教育研究,给自己职业发展指明方向。At present,the college English teachers face some problems,such as no supported subject and confusing professional identify cation.In order to solve these problems,college English teachers can fi nd a bright way for their future from the perspective of General Education by making clear the present development of college English teachers about General Education,updating the teaching concept,broadening the knowledge fi elds and doing research on General Education.
