摘 要:"陌生化"是文学作品的重要特性,如何翻译陌生化成分以再现原作的文学性是翻译的重点和难点。葛浩文与林丽君翻译的藏族作家阿来的长篇小说《尘埃落定》在欧美市场获得成功,表明其翻译高度陌生化文学作品的策略在海外具有较高的可接受性。通过分析其对陌生化成分的处理方法和效果,将有助于提高少数民族文学作品外译质量。研究发现,小说的陌生化现象主要体现在题材、叙事角度、语言使用、文化意象等四个方面。译者主要采用了直译的策略力图保留各陌生化成分,对于文化意象则根据类别采用了意译和音译的方法翻译文化负载词,从而使整部小说的英译本再现了原作的少数民族题材、傻子视角、诗化语言和藏族特色文化意象。Defamiliarization is an important feature of literary works,and it is important but difficult to translate the Defamiliarization elements in a literary work in order to reproduce tis literariness.Red Poppies,the English translation of Tibetan writer Alai’s novel Chen-ai Luo-ding,co-translated by Howard Goldblatt and Sylvia Li-Dhun Lin,entered the western market successfully.This shows that the translators’strategies of translating highly Defamiliarizated literary works are widely accepted overseas.Then it would be helpful to improve the quality of Chinese ethnic minority literature translation if we analyze the methods and effects of Defamiliarization translation in Red Poppies.It is found that the Defamiliarization of the novel is mainly reflected in four aspects:theme,narrative perspective,language use and cultural imagery.The translators mainly adopt literal translation strategies to preserve the Defamiliarization,and use paraphrase or transliteration to translate culture loaded words,so that the English version successfully reproduces the ethnic nimority theme,the perspective from an idiot,poetic language,and unique Tibetan cultural imageries of the original novel.
