摘　　要："锦鲤"一词在2018年成为热度词。文章追溯"锦鲤"的来龙去脉,发现锦鲤有中、日品种之分,故翻译时不能一概而论,要考虑到品种差异、交际场景、隐喻指代及文化交流等因素,妥当翻译。Alipay’s promotion campaign - Seeking Lucky Fancy Carp in China - makes the word Jinli an overnight hit in 2018. Tracing the history of Jinli, we find there exists Chinese breed and Japanese one. So the factors such as breed distinction, communication mode, metaphorical use and cultural communication should be taken into consideration in translating Jinli into English.
