摘 要:立场指作者对文中信息或话语参与者的态度、情感、价值判断和责任,学术写作中恰当的立场表达能够增强语篇的说服力,有助于说服读者接受作者的观点。但立场表达一直是学习者学术英语写作的困难,分析其使用的具体困难、原因和对策有助于产出高质量的学术论文。学习者使用频率最高的是认知类立场副词,呈现局限性命题内容时表达的确定性程度相对较高;表达言据性和真实性立场时,不能充分意识到词汇选择对上下文意义的限制。学习者需要学会判断并恰当表达命题信息的确定程度,也需掌握立场表达语的选择对命题信息内容的限制。Stance is used to express the writer’s attitudes,feelings,value judgements,or commitment about the propositional content of a message or discourse participants.In academic writing,appropriate stance expression can enhance persuasiveness of the discourse,and help persuade readers to accept the writer’s opinion.Stance expression,however,has been a difficulty for learners in their academic writing.Analysis of the specific difficulties,related causes and countermeasures will help learners produce higher quality research papers.It is found that learners use the epistemic adverbs most frequently,tend to express higher degree of certainty when expressing limitation,and cannot fully understand the restriction on the chosen words when expressing knowledge source and actuality.Learners should learn to appropriately judge and express the degree of certainty and to fully understand restrictions on the propositional content in stance expression.
