摘　　要：伊恩·韦斯特伯里教授是美国课程领域的领军人物,是美国《课程研究》杂志主编,是施瓦布的学生,芝加哥派传人。这篇对他的访谈主要围绕通识教育展开,此访谈有助于中国学者更清楚地区分博雅教育、通识教育的概念,更真切地了解美国通识教育的历史,以及面对21世纪的急剧变革通识课程应该如何超越原有模式构架新样态。Professor Ian Westbury, a leading figure in the field of American curriculum, is the chief editor of the American journal of Curriculum Research, and also well-known as a student of Schwab. Mainly focusing on general education, this interview will enable domestic scholars to more clearly distinguish the concept of liberal arts education and general education, and more truly understand the history of American general education and the rapid changes in the 21st century. It will also explore how the general curriculum should exceed the original model structure to construct new styles of general education.
