China’s economic rapid development also brings a series of environmental problems such as air pollution. Among them, the PM2.5 in air pollutants is easily inhaled by human body, which can induce asthma, acute bronchitis and other respiratory diseases, even lead to lung cancer. A large number of experimental studies have shown that a variety of functional components in tea have the effects of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer. In this paper, the effect of PM2.5 in air on human respiratory system and the research progress of prevention and treatment of lung-related diseases by some major functional components in tea and its mechanism of action are reviewed, in order to provide reference for the safe and effective use of tea and its functional components and the development of new tea products.
