《红楼梦》“节日习俗”的叙写及两个英译本对民族文化意象的传译--基于双语平行语料库的分析

摘　　要：从叙事时间与叙事视角阐述了《红楼梦》中"节日习俗"叙写的特点,通过双语平行语料库的分析发现,杨译本和霍译本两个英译本均再现了原文的叙事特点,与原文达到了一定的默契与呼应。在具体的文本处理上,杨译忠实地传递了"节日习俗"的民族文化意象以及"节日习俗"的文化内涵和文化渊源;霍译则对中国节日习俗的"文化意象"采用了简化、归化和增补解释的翻译策略,对西方读者来说可读性更强。This paper analyzes the features of narration of the Festive Customs in A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of narrative time and narrative angle. Through an analysis on the bilingual parallel corpus,it is found that,concerning the description on the customs of festivals,the two versions of translation made respectively by Yang Xianyi and David Hawks represent its narrative features with tacit consent and echoes. As to the details of the text,Yang Xianyi delivers the national cultural images more faithfully,and passes on literally the connotation and cultural sources of Chinese customs of festivals while David Hawks employs the strategies of simplification,domestication and further explanation when dealing with culture images about the customs of festivals,which is more understandable for western readers.
