责任型情态隐喻的人际意义研究

摘　　要：本文旨在采用定量及定性方法,以美国总统大选电视辩论中的话语为语料来探讨责任型情态隐喻在语篇中的人际意义。责任型情态隐喻可以将情态伪装成命题,通过小句来表达发语者的观点和判断,使发语者更好地脱离或者承担对判断的责任,以实现其情感共鸣、强调观点、转移矛盾和委婉措辞的人际意义。责任型情态隐喻的使用有助于发语者在特定的语篇中构建其高权势或者柔和的不同个人形象,更好地实现其真实的交际意图。对于责任型情态隐喻的研究可以帮助我们更好地了解其在特定语篇中的话语功能,从而采用相应的话语策略,提高话语交际效力。The study aims to employ the quantitative and qualitative method to analyze utterances in televised presidential debates, so as to find out the interpersonal meaning of deontic modality metaphor. Through the qualitative study of the interpersonal meaning of the use of deontic modality metaphors,we find that deontic modality metaphors are usually employed to produce emotional resonance, to emphasize viewpoints, to transfer conflicts and to euphemize. The use of deontic modality metaphors is helpful to the identity construction of the speaker in the given context, and the study on it has significance for better understanding its function in the specific discourse and for adopting suitable strategies to improve the communicative effectiveness.
