摘 要:运用基本隐喻理论和概念整合理论,探究《水浒传》四译本绰号类宗教隐喻英译背后的中西宗教文化模型、框架原型、意义焦点等认知成因。对于涉及四维空间整合的复合隐喻,杰译本较多地保留了宗教源域,赛译本、沙译本次之,登译本则更偏向于英语读者的宗教认知习惯。在当代中国文化“走出去”的战略背景下,译者不妨适时采用直译源域(+释义)或音译源域(+释义)的方法,以引介中国宗教的模型框架,突显汉语文化中的宗教类复合隐喻的概念整合与意义焦点。An analysis is made of the cognitive factors including religious cultural model,pro-typical framework,and meaning focus behind English translations of religious nicknames in Shuihu Zhuan(four English versions)by adopting the theory of primary metaphor and the theory of conceptual blending.It is found that,as regards the composite metaphor involving the integrated four-dimensional space,Jackson made great efforts to retain the religious source domains,and Pearl S.Buck and Shapiro did the same in a less degree.However,John and Alex Dent-Young catered for the religious cognition of English readers.A proposal is made in this paper that that under the strategic background of Chinese Culture“Going Global”,translators may as well adopt either the literal translation(plus explanation)or the transliteration(plus cultural note)to deal with the source domains,so as to introduce the model and framework of Chinese religion,highlighting the meaning focus and conceptual blending of complex metaphor in Chinese religion culture.
