英语单语语料库在翻译教学中的应用

摘　　要：目前,国内鲜有学者探讨英语单语语料库在翻译教学中的应用。有鉴于此,特探讨以美国当代语料库COCA语料库为代表的英语单语语料库在英语专业翻译教学中的应用。相较而言,英语单语语料库具有资源丰富、时效性强、语料真实、涵盖面广、使用免费、检索快捷等优势。英语单语语料库可应用于翻译教学课前、课中和课后三个环节,其作用主要体现在:提供海量的语言实例作为教学、练习或考试素材;检验译文词汇搭配是否地道;通过检索同义词和类似表达,丰富译文措辞选择;通过辨析近义词,提高翻译用词的准确性;提供便捷的各种类型文本搜索,方便学生了解相关文体特征,提高翻译质量。Currently, little attention has been paid to the application of English monolingual corpora to translation teaching. Therefore, this study probes into the application of English monolingual corpora in translation teaching for English majors based on COCA. Compared with bilingual corpora, English monolingual corpora boast rich, extensive, genuine, up-to-date, user-friendly and free language materials. They can facilitate translation teaching in the following ways: providing abundant and real-life language materials for teaching, practice and exams;helping students verify whether certain translation collocations are idiomatic or not;enriching word choices in translation;providing convenient means for discrimination of synonyms which would help students choose accurate words in translation;providing easy access to related professional texts which helps students grasp the special traits of certain texts in terms of diction, syntax and style and improve translation quality.
