摘 要:领导表达愤怒情绪一定不好吗?最近研究发现,领导表达愤怒情绪对领导绩效(任务绩效和关系绩效)存在积极影响与消极影响的不一致结论。文章尝试使用双阈限模型揭示领导的愤怒情绪产生积极影响或消极影响的边界条件。进一步明确领导表达愤怒情绪的阈限是影响领导绩效的关键因素,拓展了双阈限模型对领导愤怒情绪影响其领导绩效的理论解释。It is inevitable that individuals working in organizations suffer from one or more emotions,of which the negative ones impact them the most.Anger,the most easily-perceived negative emotion in workplace,often occurs with an urge to attack or change others’behavior.Leaders tend to use emotions in some cases to guide their subordinates to act in the way they want so that anger is frequently used to meet their demands to perform specific tasks.Followers’reactions to the anger at work have a strong effect on whether organizational goals are reached or not,and it may even ultimately impact leaders’own performance in turn.A large number of studies in the past years have shown that leader’s anger has a negative effect on leaders’performance.For example,the leaders who often express anger are thought to be discouraging and even develop some bad traits of being a tyrant in the long term.Therefore they can be determined to possess lower leadership effectiveness.However,an increasing number of recent studies have suggested that the anger expressed by leaders also has potential positive effects on leadership performance.That is to say,anger can improve leadership performance.Social psychologists believe that those who express anger more moderately are able to indulge in the privileges of their higher status and instead are labeled as more capable.Further,managers hold the view that not only can expressing anger moderately promote leadership effectiveness to some degree,but it also has an immediate effect on correcting subordinates'bad behavior.In some case,leader’s anger may facilitate employees’performance greatly.From what has been mentioned above,we can draw a conclusion that leaders’anger has both negative and positive effects on their leadership performance.Based on principles of the Performance-Maintenance(PM)theory,the paper examines prior research on the effects of anger on leadership performance in the following part.Scholars have come up with numerous theoretical models to explain the negative effect
