典籍外译中译者“把关人”角色研究——以《论语》中一句话的翻译为例

摘　　要：在当前树立“文化自信”、提倡“中国文化走出去”以及增强中国文化软实力的大背景下,典籍外译是中国文化“走出去”的一个重要载体和渠道。中国典籍博大精深,部分文本艰深晦涩,很容易误解、误译。以《论语》中一个句子的翻译为例,阐释译者在典籍外译过程中,必须在深刻理解典籍原文的微言大义、切实照顾外语读者的文化空白、精心挑选译本以及合理使用翻译方法与策略等方面做好把关工作。Under the background of establishing“cultural self-confidence”,advocating“Chinese culture going out”and enhancing the soft power of Chinese culture,translating Chinese classics into foreign languages is both an important carrier and a channel for Chinese culture to“go out”.Chinese classics are broad and profound,and some of the texts are difficult and easily misunderstood and mistranslated.By use of an example of English version of a sentence in The Analects,it is elucidated that translators should do a good job in understanding the profound meaning of original texts,taking care of the cultural blanks of foreign readers,selecting translations carefully,as well as exploiting proper translation methods and strategies in the process of translating Chinese classics into foreign languages.
