摘  要:2010年颁布的《高等职业教育英语课程教学基本要求》指出,高职英语的教学目标是培养学生在职场环境下运用英语的基本能力,提高其综合文化素养和跨文化交际意识,进而提升他们的就业竞争力。但是,当前高职院校英语教学效果并不理想。在教学中培养学生的词块意识可以提升其阅读能力、语言综合应用能力,为他们的职业发展奠定良好的基础。The requirements for English teaching in higher vocational colleges issued in 2010 points out that the goals of English teaching in higher vocational colleges are to develop the students’ ability to communicate in English in the workplace, to improve their comprehensive qualities, to raise their awareness about cross-culture and finally to enable them to be competitive in the job market. However, English teaching in higher vocational colleges is ineffective. In order to develop their reading ability and increase their capacity for language, the students’ awareness about chunks should be encouraged, which can lay a sound foundation for their professional development.
