英国城市大学自由教育的特点及启示——以伯明翰大学为例

摘　　要：以应用性办学为目标的英国城市大学十分注重自由教育,伯明翰大学是其中的一个代表,英国自由教育的传统以及社会发展对人才素质的要求是影响伯明翰大学自由教育的重要因素。该校自由教育具有定位准确,路径独特的特点,对我国应用型大学的通识教育的提供了重要启示。The city universities of the United Kingdom,which aim at applied education,attach great importance to liberal education.The University of Birmingham is one of the representatives.The tradition of British liberal education and the requirements of social development for the quality of talents are important factors affecting the liberal education of the University of Birmingham.Its liberal education has the characteristics of accurate positioning and unique way,which provides important enlightenment to the general education of China’s applied universities.
